DSLR is like a digital camera that uses a pentaprism (five-sided reflecting prism to deviate a beam of light by 90º) that directs light from the lens to an optical viewfinder and it also uses a mechanical mirror system. It can be also referred to as a camera that resembles 35 mm format cameras.
